Dr Aimee Silla is a conservation biologist specialising in the development of reproductive technologies as tools for the conservation of threatened amphibians, with additional expertise in amphibian mating-system evolution, captive nutrition, and immunity. A staggering 41% of amphibian species are now threatened with extinction and Dr Silla's research aims to address this biodiversity crisis by applying innovative interdisciplinary scientific approaches to species recovery. Her research has led to the generation and wild release of thousands of threatened frogs in Australia. She leads research teams, regularly engages industry partners, and her research outputs have informed species management and driven change in amphibian species recovery practices.
