David Hunter
Senior Threatened Species Officer, NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water
Focus regions: Australasian
David Hunter has worked as a threatened species officer for NSW Government over the past 30 years, with his primary focus being the establishment of robust and active threatened frog recovery programs in south-eastern NSW, with a major emphasis on initiating and facilitating stakeholder involvement in these programs. David has established a strong relationship and partnership with the Traditional Owners (Wolgalu/Wiradjuri) of the high country where corroboree frogs occur. This partnership provides mutual benefits through local community assistance with on-ground monitoring and threat management and an opportunity for Traditional Owners to revive cultural connections and practices.
