Dr. Josh Weeber

Endangered Wildlife Trust

Focus regions: Afrotropical

Joshua Weeber manages the Endangered Wildlife Trust's Threatened Endemic Unit, which focuses on conserving threatened amphibians and reptiles in southern Africa by reducing threats to priority species, protecting important freshwater and terrestrial habitats, and increasing people's awareness of the importance of these often under-prioritized animals. The unit's work is underpinned by scientific research and builds on conservation evidence to support well-informed conservation action. Josh has a strong personal interest in the spatial patterns of herpetofauna diversity, in modelling the detection, occupancy and movement of species, and in using these types of data to inform conservation assessments and both ecosystem and species conservation strategies.
