Julia Bindl
Species Manager for Amphibians and Reptiles, Citizen Conservation Foundation gGmbH, Berlin, Germany
Focus regions: Palearctic
Julia Bindl joined the Citizen Conservation team in 2025 as a species manager for amphibians and reptiles. Together with her colleagues, she coordinates breeding programmes, supports participating keepers, and maintains communication within the conservation network. She studied biochemistry in Munich and later worked at an Institute for Freshwater Ecology in Berlin. She is an aquarium enthusiast for over two decades and specialised in amphidromous stream gobies from the Indo-Pacific region. But her curiosity extends well beyond fish, to everything with no or four to eight legs.
