Julia L. Gray
Wildlife Biologist and Science Educator
Focus regions: Nearctic, Neotropical
Julia L. Gray is a wildlife biologist, science educator, and science communicator who found her way into conservation through a lifelong fascination with the natural world. With a B.S. in Fish, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology from Colorado State University, she has worked across amphibian research, wildlife fieldwork, and science education. She is especially interested in amphibian conservation and in helping people see themselves as part of the natural world rather than separate from it. After years of muddy boots and late nights in the field, Julia discovered that conservation can also happen in a classroom, through a question from a student or a story that makes someone stop and look a little closer. She currently lives in Cuenca, Ecuador, where she continues to explore the region's remarkable biodiversity.
